The Skinny Guy Who Avoided the Gym
Growing up, I was the tall, skinny guy who stayed away from the gym because I was embarrassed. I worried about doing exercises incorrectly, dropping weights, or struggling with an empty barbell. For years, I had gym memberships that I rarely used.

At 45, I Finally Walked Through the Door
A New Year’s resolution in 2015 finally got me into the gym. I felt uncomfortable and uncertain, but I committed to showing up. Six months later, I saw definition in my biceps for the first time. It was a small change, but it proved I was capable of becoming stronger.
Learning That Smarter Training Matters
As I progressed, I began experiencing back problems that changed how I approached fitness. Getting stronger was not only about lifting more.
Technique
Movement quality
Thoughtful programming
Patience

A Health Setback Tested My Commitment
In 2017, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Treatment forced me away from training for a time. After completing treatment, I returned to the gym in January 2018, determined to rebuild my strength and confidence.

Rebuilding With Better Support
I continued training independently and with professional coaches. Personal training, physical therapy, and nutrition education showed me how much the right guidance can change the process. I learned to respect the starting point, build patiently, and focus on the quality of the work.
Turning a Personal Passion Into a New Career
Encouragement from my physical therapist helped me recognize that my experience could become a way to help others. After 27 years in the corporate world, I chose a new direction. I became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and continued my education so I could help other adults approach fitness with more clarity and less intimidation.

Today, I Coach the Person I Once Was
I know what it is like to start late, face setbacks, and wonder if meaningful change is still possible. Today, I help clients build strength, improve movement, manage their weight, and develop habits that support a healthier, more active life.
